2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season

The team at Criterium encourages commercial and residential property owners, property managers, and HOA board members to prepare for the Atlantic hurricane season which takes place June 1 through November 30 each year.

This year’s Atlantic seasonal forecast was announced by NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, a division of the National Weather Service. They predict another ‘active’ Atlantic Hurricane Season for 2025, with above normal activity this season. This year they expect:

  • 13 to 19 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher)
  • 6 to 10 could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher)
  • Including 3 to 5 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5; with winds of 111 mph or higher)

Now is a good time to prepare your home or business for such an event. FEMA provides a wide array of hurricane tips—including what to do before, during and after a hurricane at READY.gov.

It’s also a good time to take photos to document your residence or commercial property in its current state. That way, if your property is damaged in a hurricane—you have photos to use as a basis of comparison. When it comes to insurance companies and FEMA, more is better for documenting any hurricane damage. That way you will have “before” and “after” photos to document your property’s situation. Contact Criterium Engineers if you need an insurance investigation following a storm.
